Innovation grounded in experience
With more than two decades of experience navigating the complexities of global journalism, I bring a thoughtful, curious and interrogative approach to newsroom innovation.
I focus on what the audience needs and on genuine value for journalists and newsrooms, refined by the necessary and strategic demands of today's digital landscape.
I coach, mentor, encourage and challenge teams, holding them to account as they scale AI tools and solutions - working together to deliver flexible, original and genuinely innovative solutions which shy away from replicating legacy workflows and methodologies.
After leading multi-disciplinary teams of journalists and developers as BBC News' Innovation Editor, I've worked with newsrooms in Finland, Ireland, Scotland, Singapore and the Philippines among others.
I've spoken at SXSW London and have hosted events at the historic Reform Club and the British Academy. My curious, accessible and audience-centric manner coupled with my skills as a reporter, ensure lively and interesting conversations which get to the heart of the debate, without confrontation.
